The Jude Bed centers on the art of the weave, bringing together natural materials and traditional craftsmanship in a piece designed to feel enduring. Its headboard is woven by artisans in India, combining bovine leather sourced from an Indian tannery with beige paper yarn and black polyester. The interplay of texture and tone gives the bed its character, while exposed wood joinery grounds the intricate weave in a simple, architectural frame.
Vivian led product development in partnership with the design team, guiding a four-month exploration of woven patterns to find the right balance of rhythm, texture, and proportion. Beyond the surface, she engineered the internal fill to preserve the weave’s flexibility without allowing it to sag over time, and refined the joinery to minimize visible hardware while maintaining structural integrity.
Working closely with manufacturing partners, Vivian carried these details from material research through production, bringing together Indian weaving craftsmanship and considered furniture engineering in a piece intended to live with its owner for years to come.
